IR (A) Program

ppltOne of the most important stages of any pilot training is acquiring qualification for executing flights in adverse meteorological conditions, such as very reduced visibility and low cloud ceiling. Obtaining this qualification guards a pilot a certain freedom, because the execution of his flights is no longer dependent on the weather. It is a necessary rating for anyone who wants to pursue the career of an airline pilot. This qualification is called Instrument Rating – IR (A).

In accordance with the program that has been approved by the President of The Civil Aviation Office (CAO), the applicants for the IR(A) training at our school must hold a valid PPL(A) license along with the Night VFR rating, have finished the theoretical IR (A) or ATPL (A) training, hold a valid MEP (L) qualification, hold a current and appropriate medical certificate and have a cross country flight time as pilot in command (PIC) of 50 hours.

In accordance with the European standards and regulations, as expressed in the Joint Aviation Requirements JAR-FCL 1, a practical training to acquire the IR(A) rating is divided into two parts – a simulator part, covering 40 hours of FNTP II cabin training with an instructor, and a practical part, covering 15 hours of training on a TECNAM P2006T type of aircraft.

A huge advantage of the IR(A) program at the FTO Ventum Air is that it is conducted on a multi-engine TECNAM P2006T aircraft. This way, after completing the training and passing the practical exam, there is no need to complete an additional multi-engine aircraft training.
