PPL (A) Program

pplaprogramObtaining the PPL(A) - Private Pilot License (Aeroplane) will be your first step in making your dreams of flying come true.

This qualification will allow you to act as Pilot in Command (PIC) of single engine, piston-powered aircraft with the maximum take-off weight of 5700 kilograms, during the day, in Visual Meteorological Conditions (i.e. good weather conditions).

The purpose of this training program is to make students capable of executing flight operations in accordance with the Visual Flight Rules (VFR). The PPL(A) training has been divided into two parts: practical and theoretical. Applicants can only proceed to the practical training if they have completed the theoretical part, which is in accordance with the regulations in-force.

In accordance with JAR-FCL outlines, the theoretical training covers information regarding aviation law, principles of flight, navigation and radio navigation, meteorology, airframe structure, performance and maintenance, flight planning and the safety of flight execution, pilotage rules, aeronautical communications, capabilities and limitations of the human body, as well as many other issues that will enable students to familiarize themselves with the basic rules of executing a flight.

Our school offers the theoretical PPL(A) training in Polish and in English, based on the program that has been approved by the President of The Civil Aviation Office (CAO), in accordance with the Ventum Air’s FTO certificate. The program consists of 79 hours of self-study, coordinated through our e-learning platform, and 21 hours of lectures, conducted during one three-day session on the premises of our school. The training lasts 3 weeks and it covers ten subjects, in accordance with JAR-FCL. Applicants must be at least sixteen years of age and have a complete lower-secondary education.

The e-learning platform has been fully integrated into the training program at the FTO Ventum Air. It includes over 900 pages of learning materials and aids in a form of PDF presentations and over 400 pages of additional materials, as well as a bank of 2200 exam questions, together with the correct answers. Our e-learning platform also features the UKE’s (Office of Electronic Communications) database of exam questions, which is absolutely essential while preparing for the commercial radio operator license.

At the end of the training, students sit an internal exam. Those who pass it will obtain a certificate on the basis of which, they will be admitted to the practical part of the training. This certificate is recognized by all the members of the Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA).

The practical training includes 45 hours of flight time (41 hours on the Cessna 150/152 and 4 hours in the FNPT II flight simulator). Out of these 45 hours, about 10 are so-called ‘solo’ hours, or hours of flight without an instructor. Before executing a ‘solo’ flight, you will be asked to produce at least the JAR-FCL class 2 medical certificate, as well as the commercial radio operator license in the aviation radio communication service issued by UKE (Office of Electronic Communications) on the basis of the positive exam results.

And now for those still hesitating:

Enjoy!!!

Now you will only have to sit the state exam on the PPL(A) theory, organized and conducted by the Flight Examination Board, under the auspices of the Civil Aviation Office and of course a practical exam which should be your show time. During the practical exam you will be accompanied by one of the examiners from the Flight Examination Board. When you pass these two exams, you can eventually say the skies are yours!

The total course price includes the theoretical training held in an individual mode, 45 hours of practical training, EPBC and EPGY landing fees
